Fertility Care for Hell's Kitchen Patients

Distance is not the issue between Hell's Kitchen and East 37th Street — direction is. The neighborhood sits along the west side, well away from the Lexington Avenue line that serves our block, so the journey is fundamentally a crosstown one. Manhattan is built for travelling north and south, which is why a trip of barely two miles takes longer than the mileage implies, and why choosing the right crossing matters.

Crossing town from the west side

The most direct option is the 7 train, which runs crosstown beneath 41st Street. Pick it up at 34th Street–Hudson Yards or at Times Square–42nd Street and ride east to Grand Central; from there it is five blocks south on Park Avenue to 37th Street. No transfer, and the crossing itself is quick.

Coming from further north in the neighborhood, the C or E at 50th Street on Eighth Avenue, or the 1 at 50th Street on Broadway, will bring you down to the 42nd Street hub, where you can pick up the 7 or the S shuttle east. Note that only the 1 stops at 50th Street on that line — the 2 and 3 run express past it.

Above ground, the M42 runs crosstown on 42nd Street and the M34-SBS runs on 34th Street; both drop within a few blocks of the office and are pleasant when traffic is light and frustrating when it is not. Whichever route you pick, twenty-five to thirty-five minutes is a fair approximation.
