The 14th Street–Union Square complex sits on the same Lexington Avenue line that runs past our door, so getting to 105 East 37th Street means one train, no transfer, and a walk of a few blocks at the far end. For anyone weighing whether daily monitoring visits are realistic alongside work, that simplicity is worth counting.
One train from 14th Street–Union Square
The 14th Street–Union Square complex is served by the 4, 5, 6, L, N, Q, R and W. Only the 6 is useful for reaching us: it is the local on the Lexington Avenue line and stops at 33rd Street, whereas the 4 and 5 run express and skip straight from Union Square to Grand Central at 42nd Street.
Board the uptown 6 and ride to 33rd Street. From that station exit you are already on Park Avenue; four blocks north brings you to 37th Street. Allow roughly fifteen to twenty minutes door to door, with the usual caveat that morning rush adds a few.
If the Lexington line is disrupted, the N, Q, R or W up Broadway to 34th Street–Herald Square works as a backup, followed by a walk east along 34th or 35th Street. It is a longer walk but avoids waiting out a service change underground.
